the trampoline adventure

so last friday i went on a date with a guy named tyler. he's on the cymbal line here at byu and it was lots of fun. i think that i need a short disclaimer though in front of it all. i have a fear of trampolines and flying through the air and doing flips and what not. i usually injure myself really badly on a trampoline so was kind of scared out of my wits for half the night.

so first off, we went to dinner at tgi Friday's. it's the first time that i've ever been there and it was pretty good. there were the usual questions about family and majors and what not, and then we talked about drumline and how we should take over next year. when we were done we went back to the riviera.

at the riv we played two games of pingpong. i must admit that i thought of julie and dt, and totally getting my trash kicked by people lik tim and red head ben. it was great in that sense. i was a little off my game in the beginning, so i lost the first game, but i came back strong and won the second game. yes!!

after that we gathered together in a group of 25-30 people so we could go to the tumbling gym between provo and springville. it was lots of fun there. i jumped into the foam pit a couple of times, and jumped around on the trampoline without injuring my self. i couldn't jump from the trampoline to the foam pit though, that was just asking too much from me. this was the first time that i've been around a trampoline in 4 or 5 years, and to have made it that far without getting hurt, i thought, was pushing my luck.

after that we went back to his apartment and played rock band for maybe half an hour, and then we decided to go to ihop. it was around 1 in the morning now, and so we went to ihop until around 3 in the morning, and then i finally made it home. it was way fun and i enjoyed it.

when i got home bre, one of my roomies, tells me that she and john, an old fhe dad, are engaged. i admit that i screamed YES many times and hopped around in a circle shouting it. it was great.

so, all in all, i would say that it was a pretty full weekend. but now we're back to the school week. nothing really happened today. i wish that i could have slept in but i didn't have the time to in the morning so i've been up for a long period of time. i'm excited to go home and see the roomies, and to chill and think of nothing for a while.

my goals for this week are to start working on my mad guitar skills so i can get better and better. i also plan on working on drumming. it should be fun. sweet! peace out kids.

wait- i forgot the most awkward moment of the weekend. it was linger longer last night and was sitting on the couch by myself, because i just like to chill, and feeling maybe a little anti social when this guy named lowell comes up and sits next to me. we talked for a short amount of time, and we ran out of things to talk about so it got awkward really fast. i couldn't leave, but he wouldn't leave so i was just sitting there listening to him talk about the picture on the wall when i noticed that a lot of people in the room were looking and pointing at me. i felt way uncomfortable, but i just sat there and tried to make relevant comments to him.

after he was gone and i was sitting and talking with mark, bryan, and bryce(huge group of guys, i know, but all of them are taken) someone came over and explained what all the staring was about. they made the comment that i looked uncomfortable and was looking for an escape earlier. i said you were right! we all had a good laugh about it. so now, that's the end, and peace out for reals this time! shout out to jack and jett!

grocieries!!! mm-hmm!!

so after work today i plan on going and getting food so i can eat, and be happy and full. YAY!!

there wasn't anything too exciting today. i had a quiz today in spanish class, and it was really easy, so no complaining there. the funny thing is that my spanish teacher is romanian. talk about interesting.

i've tried to see what university band i'm in but fred hasn't posted them yet, so that's a bummer. i really want to be in the one that's not at the stadium. i went to the stadium all last semester, and i'm all funned out going there.

sometimes my focus level is just down. i try hard, and usually everything is okay, but sometimes my add gets the better of me. dangit! a good example of this is this blog. it's full of random stuff that doesn't even make sense half the time.

still though, the main thought on my mind is: FOOD...FOOD...FOOD...HOME...EATING...FOOD!!!!

sometimes... i just want to punch him!!!

so i got to hang out with joe and graham a lot last semester, and wasn't really planning on seeing either of them at all this semester. i was at work yesterday and i got this call from joe and he's like, come and hang out with me after your done with work. so i did.

lets see... i would definitely say that there are issues with joe. i think i kinda missed out on a great opportunity there, but oh well. over the winter break joe got engaged to his girlfriend. that's fine with me, i accept the fact that i didn't act when i should have, but there are some things that joe does that definitely deserve a punching.

examples: when we were going down to vegas, joe would share his blankets and pillows with me on the bus ride and then he would snuggle next to me. lets get real: the snuggling was probably for heat conservation because it got down to 40 degrees on that bus... so cold!! i'm grateful for the blanket, but i don't know, i guess that it just irks me.

we were talking about something, i can't really remember what, but he told me that i was awesome and so cool, and that i was a great best friend and that i totally understood everything that's going on with him and his girlfriend. and then he was like, you get that all the time, i'm sure that you do. i guess that it just kind of sucked because it reminded me of being a fallback, and i don't want to be that anymore.

last night, we were hanging out right, and i was looking at a paper, and he scooted closer so that he could read to. he even put his arm around me. yeah. that kind of made me feel like trash... and feel like punching him. suck!!

so if i could, i would give up joe, but he's one of my best friends, and he is a great friend. i just wish that he would stop having these lapses in memory and remember that he has a girlfriend, and that i'm a girl too!

s'up max hall? and the secret life of cosmo the cougar!!!

so while i was in vegas i had the opportunity to roam the strip a couple of nights. the first night i was hanging out with joe and graham and we were walking through ceasar's palace. we were in the main plaza when i looked up and saw a football player and his wife. the closer that they got, i realized that they guy was max hall. when we walked past him i said "s'up?" He just nodded in his reply and kept going on his way. i turned to joe and graham and said, "don't you realize who that was?" and they said, "who what was?" i then said that they guy that just walked by was max hall. they turned and saw him, but i just thought that it was funny that they didn't recognize him in the first place. i mean, i was the only girl in the group and i was the one that recognized the quarterback of the football team. ridiculous!!
now for the secret life of cosmo the cougar. the second day that we were in vegas we had a luncheon that the band and cheerleaders had to perform at. we were hanging out in the event center and i saw a cheeleader walk through the room towing a very large suitcase. about 10 minutes later i saw cosmo come walking through the room going the other direction, but with the same suitcase. i laughed to myself.
after the performance i took my cymbals out to the bus and changed, and then i went back inside to grab a lunch. as i was walking back out i saw a cheerleader towing the suitcase. i went up to him and said hey cheerleader guy, are you cosmo? he looked at me and was like, sorry, i wish that i was. i looked at him and grinned and said sure. right... he then looked around and then back at me and he said of course if i was cosmo, i couldn't really tell you that could i? of course not, of course not.
so then game day happened. i was at the game and had just performed something, and was going to go sit in the stands again. cosmo was on the stairs giving out high fives to the band members. i was laughing on the inside. then he got to me and he gave me a high five, but then he pulled me into a hug. it was really funny, and that made me laugh even more.
i just thought that the world should know how awesome cosmo is, but i don't think that i will reveal his secret identity. i just thought that you would enjoy the story, especially hollykins. anyways peace out kids for real. i only have 15 minutes left of my day at work!!

crazy christmas holidays!!!

the christmas holiday was pretty awesome, but i wish that it could have been longer. that would have been nice. i guess that i should start by talking about the vegas bowl.
vegas was pretty boring this year. i used to live there, and plus we went there last year. joe, graham, and i decided to go and see a movie. we went and saw the punisher 2. it was pretty funny, which was something that i wasn't expecting. for the whole trip it was just me hanging out with graham and joe. they are what made the trip fun this time around.
after that i flew to kansas city and went to wichita kansas for christmas. i got to see my sister, her son, and her husband. it was pretty fun. for the first two days it was just my sister, tricia and her family. then on the 23rd my mom, dad, and little brother came down to kansas too.
christmas day was pretty fun. my parents and family didn't know what to get me so i got lots of dvds. i got two music books, one for guitar and the other for piano. the dvd's i got were anastasia, kung fu panda, frequency, miss congenialty, sleeping beauty, x-men, and 13 going on 30. i got three new things of finger nail polish, some chapstick, and a dress. all in all it was a very good haul.
i stayed in wichita until the 28th. the night before i left though this huge thunderstom went through wichita and we were in a tornado warning. how bizzare. as we traveled home the next day, i saw that the thunderstorm had turned into an ice storm the farther north we got.
the one cool thing about being home was seeing my family. steven, my little brother, and i had bonding moments. it started new years eve when we watched prince caspian. every night after that we would watch a movie together. it was lots of fun.
the night before i came back out to utah we had another ice storm go through. my mom thought that it would take all day to get to kansas city. we left at 8 in the morning. the first 50 miles were terrible, but after that the roads were clear, and it was 50 degrees outside. it was pretty nice. i didn't fly out until 5:30 and we got to kansas city at noon. we decided to go to liberty jail, and that was cool, and then after that i went and checked through security. it was a long day.
so that leads me back out here to utah. i have 15 credits this semester, and they are easy enough. i have even been cleared to work 25 hours a week here.

so tired, but almost done for the day

so i've been taking finals since wednesday. sad i know because yesterday was the last day of classes. i've taken my spanish oral exam and my polynesian dance exam. today is supposed to be my reading day, but i went to campus to study and crashed the english department's christmas party. it was really good food by catering, and i'm really glad that i had it. i then went into work becuase i could study there and it would be quiet, and not very many things have happened today.

i think that as i study i reach a point where i just don't care anymore. it's been a really busy last week of classes, and now i just have to finish the finals. but while i was sitting here at work studying i think i've reached that point where i just don't care anymore. it's like i've been staring at my spanish book for so long that if i close my eyes i'm pretty sure that i'll see the escinas or my vocab words highlighted in blue or my grammar highlighted in pink. (escinas are these things that teach us about the culture through following the daily life of a college student. 18 chapters of escinas and i think we covered a whopping four days!!!)

after i leave work today though, i'll go and take the written spanish final. it should be pretty easy, and i think that it won't take me very long. on the regular test, which are 70 questions, i take 10-20 minutes. this might take me half an hour. pretty easy. after this i should go and work on my final for chum 250, but i've been on campus all day, and i have until wednesday to get it all done, or if you really want to be picky, i have until 8 on thursday morning because that's when matt will pick up the programs.

tomorrow i should take my english 292 exam, i think that i will. hopefully i'll be able to get it done pretty early because tomorrow is my birthday, and i think that i would like chill time. that could be very nice.

i don't really have any plans for my birthday yet. my roomates and i want to invite people over, but we haven't really gotten on that, and a couple of the roomies are going on dates, because they are all dating machines. maybe some day i'll introduce my roomies to you. for now though i will tell you what i call them by. (i would say their names, but they aren't really, these names range from first names, to adjectives, to last names!) my roomies are heidi, linda, bre, jackson, and natalie! okay true, those are mostly first names, but oh well.

new job!!!!!!

this is going to be just random thoughts and they will probably be only one sentence long... so here we go!
so today i start a new job in the english composition office. so far it seems pretty chill, and i'm excited.
last night i went ice skating and that was really cool, i wish that i was better at it, so maybe i should do this more often.
um, yeah, the poet is in a relationship and it's not with me. suck!
the school year is almost over and i haven't taken over the world yet... so many things to do, so little time.
and i think that tops it for random thoughts of the day. yay! peace out guys.
